Wipes industry veteran named senior vice president, care business.

Lynda Kelly has been named senior vice president, care business area and a member of the corporate executive team at Suominen Corporation, effective in mid May. Kelly has a long and wide-ranging experience in nonwovens business, especially in hygiene, medical and wiping products. Most recently, she acted as director, global medical and wipes at First Quality Nonwovens. Prior to that she has worked at John R Starr, Inc. as senior consultant, being responsible for worldwide medical and consumer nonwoven research, and at BBA Nonwovens, where she held several managerial positions. Kelly will report to Nina Kopola, president and CEO of Suominen Corporation, and acting senior vice president of care business area. “I am extremely pleased to welcome Lynda Kelly to Suominen and to the company’s corporate executive team. Her thorough experience in developing and managing businesses will be important for us in implementing our strategy. The deep knowledge she will bring in the products and customers we are focusing on in our care business area will be very valuable going forward,” says Kopola. “I am honored and delighted to join Suominen, a leading global manufacturer of nonwovens and flexible packaging,” Kelly says. “I look forward to working with the Suominen team as we create value for medical and hygiene nonwoven applications.” Suominen’s care business area supplies value-added nonwovens for medical and hygiene applications such as swabs and feminine care products. The business area was formed in the beginning of 2014.
